The Alberni Aquarium Need help.

The Alberni Aquarium become an important pillar in the community. It is a smaller sized non-profit but has proven to have a very strong educational outreach program. The Alberni Aquarium's main priority is environmental education and awareness. We were very proud to be host to over sixty school groups in 2019.

They also participate in habitat restoration and enhancement projects throughout the community. Being proud to have taken part in projects such as tree planting at the Estuary, Salmon Enhancement Net-pan Projects, and even partnered up with Ducks Unlimited for a birdhouse building project for species at risk.

The Alberni Aquarium is also committed to providing job training to local young people. The Aquarium is partially run by numerous volunteers of all ages. The Alberni Aquarium offers a one of a kind Junior Scientists Program that encourages youth to share their science experiments promoting science education and communication skills. The Alberni Aquarium is passionate about learning for all ages, and host a weekly story and craft time for preschool families.

The Aquarium has become an ambassador for the community and have hosted visitors from all over the world.

Any donations would be grateful. And even if you can't donate, spreading the word is just helpful.

How You Can Help

All of the animals here at the Alberni Aquarium need lots of care, and you can help with that!

  • Sponsor a tank for a month! Tank sponsorships range from $50 - $150 a month, or you can sponsor for a year and receive a free cookbook. The animals will be thankful for all the yummy food they'll get to eat.

  • Volunteer! We're always looking for passionate people who want to learn more about aquatic life. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering, give us a call or message us on Facebook for more information.

  • Donate your bottles at the return it depot under the Alberni Aquarium account #393.

  • Adopt a Salmon! For $15 you can adopt a beautiful salmon fry and name it.

  • Donate!

  • Come and visit! Bring friends and family to look at all the amazing creatures that live here.
